Past sports projects funded by the Mosehla Foundation

Sport plays a fundamental role in the early development of children and youth and the skills learned during sport contribute to the holistic development of young people. The Foundation played a key role in the establishment of the following sporting events in Tembisa – these events have since been handed over to the community.


Mosehla Easter Games

The Mosehla Easter Games has grown from strength to strength since it started in 2012 to inspire children of Tembisa through sport. It is an annual event that is well supported by the Tembisa and surrounding community and has enthusiastic participation from teams from different townships and attracts over 4000 spectators. Its primary focus is on the raw Kasi football that consists of young players.

Adelaide Mosehla Netball Tourney

Netball is one of the most popular women's participation sports in South Africa with several clubs in Tembisa. In 2017 the Foundation launched the inaugural Adelaide Mosehla Netball Tourney which promotes the development of Netball in Tembisa and plays a crucial role in promoting a healthy lifestyle amongst teenage girls.
